A gentle and relaxing spring pool awaits at Alexander Springs Recreation Area! With calm and constant 72 degree waters, this recreation area offers visitors an easy way to enjoy the famous Florida springs. Maples and cabbage palms will surround you as you enjoy the cool water, as well as many recreational activities including swimming, kayaking, canoeing, scuba diving, hiking, and boating. Guests can camp at Alexander Springs Recreation Area, although there are no electrical, water, or sewer hookups. Visitors can hike or backpack along the Florida National Scenic Trail. Avid birdwatchers can also see some of the most beautiful birds in Florida along Alexander Run. Pets are not allowed.

Directions

Alexander Springs Recreation Area is located along CR 445 in the northeast corner of Lake County between Astor and Altoona.
From SR 40 at Astor, take Butler Street to CR 445A and turn left on CR 445. The recreation area is 5.8 miles south on the right.
From Altoona, drive north 5.2 miles on SR 19, and turn right on CR 445. Continue another 5.1 miles to the entrance on the left.
