Take in the real Central Florida at Lower Wekiva River Preserve State Park. Explore the park by foot along the Sand Hill Nature Trail (2.5 miles), or by water paddling along the Wekiva. Challenge yourself along the 2.5 mile biking trail at the southern entrance of the park. Bikes and hikers are allowed on the multi-use equestrian trails at the northern entrance, which span a cumulative 18 miles. Birders will enjoy looking spotting songbirds, wading birds, and birds of prey. Camping is only available to equestrians, and must be reserved in advance. Horse stalls are available. The Wekiva is a great place to fish from your kayak or board. A kayak launch onto the Wekiva is available at Katie’s Landing located on Wekiva Park Drive off State Road 46 in Sorrento. There are restrooms in the area near the horse stalls at the Fechtel area of the preserve and at Katie's Landing.
