Paddle Goodbys Creek in Jax with Art of Adventure

Sometimes you have to push through the hustle and bustle to find the serene spots along the watershed in more urban areas – as you’ll learn in this video with Art of Adventure‘s Pascale Head! Explore Goodbys Creek, a tributary of the St. Johns River in the San Jose area of Jacksonville. In this vlog, Pascale shares her route as she and Mo paddle from John T. Lowe Boat Ramp into Goodbys Creek. They show you the best place to stop for lunch and a brew on the way back, too!

Pascale and Mo share the app they use to find the best time to launch (high tide for this paddle), the landmarks to look for as you go, information about the “ghost forest” in the area from St. Johns Riverkeeper, how they do their part for the environment along the way and more.

Places mentioned in this video where you can launch your kayak (or pull in to take a break during your paddle) include John T. Lowe Boat Ramp, Alejandro Garces Camp Tomahawk Park, and Wicked Barley Brewing Company.

If you get out to explore this tributary of the St. Johns, share your adventure with us using #ExploreTheStJohns on Instagram. Be sure to subscribe to Art of Adventure on YouTube to follow their adventures on Florida’s waterways and to get ideas for your own trips.
